What BidRoute is

BidRoute is a lead routing platform that connects homeowners with local contractors. We are not a contractor, employer, or party to any agreement between a homeowner and contractor. We facilitate introductions and provide tools to help both parties communicate, bid, and complete work.

Homeowner responsibilities

By posting a job on BidRoute you agree to:

  • Provide accurate and complete project information including photos and measurements
  • Respond to contractor bids in a timely manner
  • Notify non-selected contractors through the platform's decline flow
  • Mark jobs complete honestly once work is finished to your satisfaction
  • Pay the contractor directly for completed work at this stage of the platform

Contractor responsibilities

By joining the BidRoute network you agree to:

  • Maintain an active contractor license and general liability insurance
  • Respond to job postings in your area within 24 hours when available
  • Submit honest, accurate bids based on the information provided
  • Conduct all pre-hire communications through the BidRoute platform
  • Mark jobs complete honestly through the platform upon finishing work
  • Pay BidRoute's platform fee promptly upon job completion

Platform fees

BidRoute charges contractors a platform fee upon job completion. No fee is charged for browsing jobs or submitting bids.

Current fee structure: 7.5% on jobs up to $4,000 · Flat $300 on jobs $4,000–$6,000 · 5% on jobs $6,000–$20,000 · Flat $1,000 on jobs above $20,000. Fees are subject to change with reasonable notice.

During the current beta period, fees may be collected manually via phone or invoice. Automated fee collection will be introduced in a future release.

What BidRoute is not responsible for

BidRoute does not guarantee the quality, safety, timeliness, or legality of any work performed by contractors on the platform. We are not responsible for disputes between homeowners and contractors, property damage, or any financial loss arising from work arranged through BidRoute.

Homeowners are encouraged to independently verify contractor credentials, review past work, and use their own judgment before hiring.

Account termination

BidRoute reserves the right to suspend or remove any account — homeowner or contractor — that violates these terms, circumvents platform fees, provides false information, or behaves in a way that damages the platform or its users.

Changes to these terms

As BidRoute incorporates and matures, these terms will be updated. We will notify users of material changes via email. Continued use of the platform after notification constitutes acceptance of updated terms.

What we collect

When you use BidRoute we collect information you provide directly, including:

  • Name, email address, and phone number at account creation
  • Job posting details including photos, measurements, and project descriptions
  • Contractor application information including license and insurance numbers
  • Messages exchanged between homeowners and contractors on the platform
  • Survey and feedback responses

How we use it

We use your information to operate the platform — routing jobs, facilitating communication, verifying contractor credentials, and collecting platform fees. We do not sell your data to third parties. We do not share your personal contact information with other users without your consent.

Your phone number is never shared. Homeowners and contractors communicate through BidRoute. Personal contact details are only disclosed if you choose to share them directly.

Contractor verification data

License and insurance numbers submitted during the contractor application process are used solely for verification purposes. We verify active status with the relevant licensing bodies and insurance providers. This information is not shared with homeowners or third parties beyond what is necessary for verification.

Photos and project details

Photos and project details submitted by homeowners are shared with contractors who receive the job posting. Once a contractor is selected, job details are visible only to the hired contractor. Declined contractors do not retain access to homeowner photos or project specifics after a job is closed.

Data retention

We retain account information for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us directly. Certain records may be retained for legal or financial compliance purposes.

Third party services

BidRoute uses third party services to operate the platform including payment processing and email delivery. These providers have their own privacy policies and data practices. We select providers with strong privacy commitments and do not permit them to use your data for their own purposes.
